The title of the 2021 Venice Architecture Biennale, chosen by its curator, Hashim Sarkis, is a question: “How will we live together?”

As curator of Catalonia’s participation and guest editor of the issue of Quaderns Biennale, 2021: AIR/ARIA/AIRE, Olga Subirós reformulates it as “How will we survive together?”, a question answered with a project in which architects, urban planners and landscape architects are invited to explore and act on the invisible matter between what is built: air. Air is the point of convergence of the major present-day crises: the climate crisis and the public health crisis due to air pollution in cities, interconnected with each other and also with the COVID-19 pandemic.

Quaderns Biennale, 21: Air/Aria/Aire is a special issue of the Quaderns, magazine of the COAC, published in the occasion of the presentation of the project Air/Aria/Aire promoted by The Institut Ramon Llull at the 17th Venice Architecture Biennale Venice in 2021.
