Slow Spatial Reader should be used as a door to a different reality: a parallel universe of spatial practices, relationships and entanglements. Under the umbrella of “slowness”— which is to be intended not only as an alternative to the current pace, but also as a different frequency of consciousness we use to know the world—a multitude of contributors generously share their spaces and spatial thinking. Reporting acts of radical affection towards space in all its potential, the collection imagines radical ways of supporting and liberating people, communities, practices, and non-human beings through the means of spatial practices. The stories in the first three chapters of the book, brought together through the use of the apparently irreconcilable spatial dichotomies of far and near, knowing and not knowing, in cracks and at the margins, are an ode to the myriad of forces and connections that shape our understanding of the world beyond dominant structures and ideologies.
