“What is architectural quality and what does it trigger?
How does it work for the homeless who don’t have a physical space to call home?
How can we make cemeteries more diverse again, implementing current urban issues such as ownership, living models, density, land policy and ecology?
Is there an alternative to the infinite multitude of tents that make up the typical image of a refugee camp?
Could infrastructure and architecture work together to reshape the idea of territory?”

This sequence of questions shows concerns, intentions, desires and ambitions from some of the authors of the Young Talent Architecture Award (YTAA) 2020. Most of them are starting points for a process of research that goes together with a development of a specific design.

Here you will find out the group of projects selected by the jury members during several meeting sessions celebrated virtually on summer 2020, 12 of them became finalists from which 4 winners. A total of 382 graduation projects were submitted by 478 students from 155 schools throughout Europe and Brazil, Chile and Mexico as guest countries.

YTAA encourages exchange between Schools and seeks to improve the skills of architects from the beginning of their professional careers while also learning about the differences and similarities in the teaching of architecture worldwide.
